different theme styling for pages and posts?

    In my theme, i want different styling for both pages and posts.

    Posts will be general pages that display a login form, an about me section, and a contact page.

    Pages will contain large amounts of content such as videos, images, and text.

    Do i need to have a post.php page and a page.php file in my theme?
