    Hi,

I checked your whole documentations together with tips… but I cannot see anywhere if it is possible to set up different text for users from different countries exclusive. Let me try to explain myself a bit more, so if I for example set this up [geoip_detect2_show_if country=”FR”]Looks like you are in Europe. Go to your local store (with url: example.fr)[/geoip_detect2_show_if] then I set up [geoip_detect2_show_if country=”DE”]Looks like you are in Europe. Go to your local store (with url: example.de)[/geoip_detect2_show_if]. Will those two shortcodes will be exclusive? Will that content will be served exclusively to FR (in 1st shortcode) and DE (in 2nd shortcode) IP addresses?

    Thank you.

It is going to rely on the geo database you are using but theoretically someone can not be accessing the net on the same connection in both FR and in DE. So, the vast likelihood is that the two statements will be exclusive.

Some ISPs cover both sides of a border, so it is just possible that a database might hold an IP address in two countries, though what normally happens is the location of the ISP is used.

As an aside, depending on your localisation techniques, you might want to consider:
[geoip_detect2_show_if country=”FR”]On dirait que vous êtes en Europe. Accédez à votre magasin local (with url: example.fr)[/geoip_detect2_show_if][geoip_detect2_show_if country=”DE”]Sie scheinen in Europa zu sein. Gehen Sie zu Ihrem örtlichen Geschäft[/geoip_detect2_show_if]

Exclusive – yes both text will never be displayed at the same time, as the Maxmind API cannot return more than one country. Is this what you meant by exclusive?

Thank you @douglasuk and @benjamin4 for your replies.

By exclusive I meant to show different message for different ISP users (ISP users would be I assume more correct then telling users from X country). So it is not possible to show different message to different ISP users? Even like @douglasuk suggested?

    Thanks

Can you make an example, please? I don’t know what you mean by “ISP user”.

Example is, let’s say there are a visitors from UK. Then, on one unified store, that visitor see a message: “Looks like you are based in United Kingdom. Go to your local store“. If someone access from France, then on that unified store should be a message to that person: “Looks like you are based in France. Go to your local store“. We have 5-6 country based stores and want to send visitors to their country stores. That’s why I’m asking for this. Is it possible with this plugin and how?

    Thanks
