• Hi, I have been able to display featured pages on other pages using the code snipped on http://www.themesandco.com/snippet/featuring-pages-another-page-post-home/
    What I need now is to be able to set up different feature pages in different pages.
    I have a Spanish Version and an English Version of my site, hosted in different pages.
    Is there any way of achieving this?
    I have had a look at Customizr Featured Pages unlimited, but I don’t think that allows to specify which feature pages are shown in which pages? it speaks about the location, but it refers to location within the homepage?

  • If you simply want to set up a home page for each language, with featured pages on each home page, then you should use a language plugin.

    I recommend Polylang. You’ll need a bit of extra code to make it work with Customizr, which you can get here.

    See also Setting up WordPress multilingual sites with Customizr. (And How to customize Customizr if you’ve never used a functions.php file before.)

    Thank you very much, but would that allow me to have different feature pages links in different pages or it will just display the same page in another language?

    Polylang only knows which pages to display in your second language, because you link the pages together yourself. So, for example, you can define “Contact”, “Services”, and “FAQ” to be English and define “Contatti”, “Servizi”, and “Domande frequenti” to be Italian. You then tell Polylang that:
    – “Contact” <=> “Contatti”;
    – “Services” <=> “Servizi”; and
    – “FAQ” <=> “Domande frequenti”.

    So if “Services” is your English Featured Page 2, then when you swap to Italian, “Servizi” would be your Italian Featured Page 2.

    But there’s nothing to stop you from linking them any way you like. So if you were to define “Services” (En) to be equivalent to “Domande frequenti” (It), then when you swap languages, your Italian Featured Page 2 would be “Domande frequenti”.

    In summary, when you switch languages, the featured pages that get displayed are those that you linked together yourself.
