 * I have a problem with images. I have two images of the same height (626px) which
   are to be seen in a slider plugin. One of them is scaled to a much larger size
   than the other, and in the media library the “smaller” image is shown with a
   grey border top and bottom as if it doesn’t fill the entire square available
   for it.
    I’ve double checked and the images are the same height – how do I stop
   this behaviour (which is seen both in WP and the slider).

 * You can see the difference here. It’s a dev site so can’t link to the page directly.
 * [http://www.imgpaste.net/image/B82Zs](http://www.imgpaste.net/image/B82Zs) large

   [http://www.imgpaste.net/image/B8ckq](http://www.imgpaste.net/image/B8ckq) small
 * I understand that it might be hard to see exactly, but the impression corresponds
   to the different in size between the pictures.

   suggestion.

 * So I put up the site on a new subdomain. [http://newsite.jowo.site](http://newsite.jowo.site)

   First image is 2048×807 second image is 1435×807 (the same height). Still they
   display at different heights in the front end, and are displayed differently
   in the Media section in the backend (the 2048×807 having grey borders spaces
   above and below the image, the other one doesn’t).
 * I don’t understand what is causing this. I want both to be the size of the smaller.

 * OK that was embarrasing – I thought I had changed the settings …
    Now it’s disabled
   so
 * newsite.jowo.site should display the site …

 * It’s probably a slider setting, but I think it’s trying to maintain the width,
   so it shrinks the height on the wider one. Check all the settings for your slider.
 * It would really be easiest if you just edited both images and re-scaled so their
   the same size and use those instead of the ones you’ve uploaded.
