Support » Plugin: CAOS | Host Google Analytics Locally » Different data after switching off MonsterInsights plugin

  • Hi, I’ve been using CAOS in Compatibility Mode with MonsterInsights plugin for 2 years and it’s been great!
But since MonsterInsights forced to use gtag.js, my website performance decreased.
So recently I switched off CAOS Compatibility Mode and deactivated MonsterInsights. Site speed improved and now analytics.js relies on CAOS itself.
Problem is, Google analytics shows different data than before switching. Views are fine but bounce rate increased from 64% to 90% and time spent on site dropped from 12 minutes to 5 minutes.

I know it’s not a new thing because I’ve made tests in August 2019 for 2 weeks and the same happened. Views were no different but bounce rate increased and time spent decreased similarly.

    What can cause those differences?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    H Michal,

Could you share your settings in CAOS and a bit about your configuration, i.e. are you using any JS optimization/minification plugins? Cause these can sometimes alter the order of loaded scripts added by CAOS which could e.g. cause an event to be sent before the pageview is registered (which would explain the increased bounce rate)
