Difference in text formatting toolbar for writing posts?

  • When I go to write posts (WP 2.3.1) on my computer (XP, Firefox, Java SE6 1.6.0), I notice that my post controls look totally different (links to screenshots for disambiguation: MINE and HIS) than that of my boss’s computer – he uses XP & IE7 or 2000 & IE7. He updated to Java SE6 and that didn’t change anything…What am I missing?

If this was just a cosmetic issue, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but he is missing out on certain features (such as the image manager thingie).

  • Why guess that it is his computer? Are you logging in with the same account? Most likely it is actually that in his preferences he has Visual Editor disabled.

Hah, yeah, that did the trick. I just assumed that, since mine was on as a default, his would be too (I don’t know why he would bother turning it off…)

    Thanks!
