    Hi there,
First I would like to know what is the difference between this Private Group and the Groups in Buddypress.

Because I have groups in Buddypress, and I’ve set some of them as private and the content only adm or mod can add – But this is not true, since all members are “participant” in all group/forum, and so they can post “topics”.
What want is to have Private Groups, where people should ask to join or where adm or mod can inveted.
Them have a forum in each group, where only adm or mod can post topics. Them members can only reply to the topics. Is this possible?

private groups would allow you to do that.

so go into the ‘topic permissions’ tab and activate permissions.

Then you set up a group say called ‘users’ (you can have different ones of these) and a group called ‘moderators’ (again these can be multiple).

Then you set a forum to allow the groups ‘users’ and ‘moderators’ to access that fourm and update, you can then set topic permissions to allow the users only to reply, but the moderators to both create and reply.

Then set each user that you want to that group.

so Forum 1 has both groups A & B able to access.

So user x has group A (‘users’ group) assigned to them and forum 1 has group A with topic permission ‘Create/Edit replies’

and user y had group b (‘moderators’ group) and Forum 1 also has group B with topic permission ‘Create/Edit topics & replies’
