Support » Plugin: Getty Images » didn’t work at all – and stopped media from working, too

  • Not only did the plug-in not work (nothing happened when clicking Getty next to Media), but it also stopped Media from working. I had to delete the app before I could get to Media to select any of my own images.

    I did manage to insert the Getty image I wanted by manually inserting the embed code into the post text view.

    Sorry to hear you experienced issues related to the plugin. I’m unable to recreate any of the issues you described and am wondering if you could provide more information so we can look into this more. What version of WordPress are you using? Are you using the new Guttenberg editor or the classic editor? Also, are you signed in and downloading against a subscription or using the Embed feature? Any details you can provide would be helpful.

    Hi. According to my Dashboard/Updates, the WP version is up to date. There is a note about “if you need to reinstall version 5.0.2 you can do so here.” I am using the classic editor.
    I’m not sure how to answer the subscription question. I downloaded the plugin directly through WP, activated it, and then attempted to click “Getty” at the top of post editor next to “Media.” Does that help/make sense?

    Thanks for the quick response. That does make sense but I’m still unable to reproduce the issue you’re reporting. I’m wondering if you might have had a conflict with another plugin or that something might be blocking the plugin from opening properly?

    A plugin conflict is certainly possibly. I’ve also wondered if something just went wrong in the install and a reinstall might work. But since I was able to do the embed manually, I’m hesitant to go back and try mucking with the installation again.
