Support » Plugin: PHP Compatibility Checker » Didn’t notify about Easy WP SMTP failure

    Hi, thanks for this plugin,
Its useful for me and I guess I didn’t expect it to categorically find every possible error
Luckily I checked my forms after update to php7, and noticed that there were a bunch of errors with Easy WP SMTP mail plugin. It sounds like there are a bunch of potential errors with any kinds of SMTP mail it may be good to warn about.

    Hey Traverser11,

I was able to install, activate, and configure, the “Easy WP SMTP” plugin on a PHP 7 server with no issue. I turned on WP_Debug and did not find any errors or warnings associated with the plugin.

I also ran v1.3 of the compatibility checker on this plugin and it showed no compatibility issues. It sounds like the issue might be with your form plugin or with your server’s email system.

I’m happy to look into this further if you provide me with a list of your plugins and themes, however, I do not see any issue with our compatibility plugin.

The compatibility checker is a static code analysis against PHP compatibility. It is not capable of finding server configuration issues, or runtime code execution issues. We have not had any verified reports of missed incompatibilities.

Overall this does not seem like an issue with our compatibility checker plugin, but possibly a configuration issue with your site’s server.

Thanks Taylor – I hadn’t had any issues with the SMTP mail previously – thanks for offer to check it out, I found a quick workaround though, not getting paid for that project –

BTW I also found this error with WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping by Mangohour that wasn’t picked up by the checker

Warning: Declaration of MH_Table_Rate_Shipping_Method::calculate_shipping($package) should be compatible with WC_Shipping_Method::calculate_shipping($package = Array) in /home/taringpadi/ on line 29
