Support » Plugin: Open Social Share » Did the shortcode change?

Have been using this plugin to manually add the social sharing to the bottom of several pages using the shortcode [LoginRadius_Share]

After updating today, the plugin turned itself off. I noticed the shortcode on a page, logged in and the plugin was deactivated. Now anywhere we were using the shortcode stopped working. Looking at the plugin settings it now says the shortcode is [Social9_Share]

Changing the shortcode to [Social9_Share] does in fact fix the problem but we’ve got hundreds of instances of manually added shortcodes all over the site and trying to manually replace them would be a nightmare.

Is the old shortcode [LoginRadius_Share] entirely depreciated? Really don’t want to spend hours looking for all the shortcode instances as it will be quicker to just use a different plugin.

  • As a follow-up, while changing the shortcode does fix the problem, it also looses all “Likes” that had accumulated.

Is there any way to save the Likes or will they be permanently lost by updating the plugin?

    Hi OverdogArt,

We just uploaded a new version of the plugin which includes the old shortcodes also, please update to the latest and you shouldn’t have to change the shortcodes over.

I updated the plugin and it does fix the loading problem but we’ve lost all of our “Likes.”

We had several posts and pages that had garnered many Likes and after updating they’re all back to 0, every one of them.

Is there any way to restore them or insure that when the plugin updates this doesn’t happen?

    Thanks!

    Hi OverdogArt,

The only way to get those counts again is to roll back to version 3.0. We will address this issue in an upcoming release

Got it. Thanks for the quick response.
