Hi! We just installed FiboSearch and encountered that when added to the menu, this appears instead of the search bar/icon: dgwt_wcas_search_box

    Screenshot: https://snipboard.io/Wn560C.jpg

We have disabled it for the moment until we find out if there’s a fix. Do you have any ideas why this could be happening? Thanks!

    Hi awesonja,

How are you adding the FiboSearch form into your menu? With a shortcode or in the Menu section?

Let me know and we’ll see how to fix it 🙂

    Regards,
    Marta

    Hi Marta!

We are trying to add it to the main menu (or alternatively in the upper right corner next to My Account and Cart). Thanks for your help 🙂

    Hi Sonja!

You can add FiboSearch in 4 different ways:

    1. As a menu item – go to the Menu screen and add the menu item “FiboSearch bar”.
    2. Using a shortcode – [fibosearch]
    3. As a widget – go to the Widgets screen and choose “FiboSearch bar”
    4. Using PHP – <?php echo do_shortcode('[fibosearch]'); ?>

I guess you’re adding it as a menu item (1), right? Is the plugin activated?

If the plugin is activated and there are no errors in the WooCommerce –> FiboSearch, there might be a conflict with another plugin.

The best approach would be to deactivate plugins one by one and check if the issue still occurs after each deactivation. Also, try to switch your theme to e.g. Storefront, and check if the issue may be related to the theme.

This will help me determine if it’s not a compatibility issue and which plugin is the cause.

Let me know if this helped 🙂

    Hi again Marta!

We have followed the steps you suggested and have been able to narrow the problem down to a possible conflict with Laygridder.

We are seeing the following error that might be related?
“Warning: First parameter must either be an object or the name of an existing class in /home/customer/www/staging2.anielaparys.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/laygridder/frontend/frontend.php on line 529”

We have added the FiboSearch as a menu item but only see “dgwt_wcas_search_box” in the menu as described in the original post. Do you perhaps have a solution? Thank you!

    Hi Marta!

Unfortunately if we disable Laygridder the whole site breaks.

We added the FiboSearch as a menu item but are getting the same result.

@martadella I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us escalating this to the plugins team.

It’s never necessary to do that. Here’s why.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.
