 * Just upgraded to 3.0 (all working well) but what I want to do is have a “remote
   development system”. Let me explain;
 * I have an ASUS 1000HE Netbook running Linux with Apache, MySQL and PHP on it,
   plus a copy of WordPress. As I have a 90 minute ride on a train each way to work,
   I want to be able to write posts on the Netbook and upload them to the website
   when I get home.
 * I’m able to access the WordPress MySQL database remotely (i.e. when the netbook
   is online), and have a copy locally, but all the links, etc. are for the “live”
   site.
 * Is there anyone who as considered or accomplished doing this ?

 * If I understand your problem correctly, you could set an entry in your `/etc/
   hosts` files for [http://www.example.com](http://www.example.com) (or whatever
   your WordPress domain is).
 * Point the domain at your netbook.
