Support » Plugin: WP Encrypt » Development currently on hold

    Hey all,

first of all I would like to thank you all for using this plugin. I mainly created this plugin to provide an easy-to-use interface to generate Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates for all domains on a multisite, and it’s focussed on server environments where root access is available in order to configure the certificates. Unfortunately setting up SSL is not as easy as I wish it was, and this plugin DOES NOT solve this (tbh it can’t). I probably should have explained this in more detail in advance, as a lot of support requests are based on such assumptions – to be clear, this plugin is unlikely to ever work in a shared hosting environment for example.

Anyway, the main thing I would like to say is that I unfortunately have to put development of the plugin on hold indefinitely.
I still use this plugin on some of my own (multi)sites and will continue to do so. I can confirm it generally works (at least in my environment), but unfortunately I do not have the time and resources to continue development of this plugin for the public (and I know there are issues), as other open-source projects have taken over. I know some of you are not going to like this, but that’s the way it is. There’s only so much time in a day, especially for creating free products. There might be a time in the future where I can put some effort into this again, but for now it will remain as is for at least a while.
