I have a godaddy shared hosting account so all of my websites are hosted in a subdomain. For example, my MAIN website is hosted at aaa.com. If I make another site, its hosted at aaa.com/newsite and i link the domain to the subfolder so it always shows up as newsite.com
Heres my issue.
I have a website for my “newsite” domain that needs to stay up until I get my wordpress site functional. I made and installed the site at “aaa.com/newsite” and had plans to just point my domain to that subfolder later.
I decided to test this with a different domain and it doesn’t seem to work right. The landing page displays correctly as the domain, but whenever i click any links, the browser displays “aaa.com/newsite”.
Does wordpress allow this? I am guessing that wordpress does not work off of relative root links, but rather uses the whole domain name in all of its linking.
Hopefully someone has a solution as I have most of the new site made already and content uploaded.
