 * Is there any thought to a developer license? A license where I could get a lifetime
   of upgrades and use on as many sites as needed for a single purchase price.
 * The pay every year purchasing model is a difficult sell to clients and un-updated
   plugins just lead to hacked sites.

 * The CodeCanyon license is a lifetime license in terms of updates. If you use 
   PSN on different installations with different customers, you need one regular
   license per customer.
    This license also includes support for 6 month, which 
   can be extended. But updates are always for free. I think that is a very fair
   model.
