# Developer / Code Blog

 * Hi,
 * I want to run a developer’s blog, so I often need code blocks, inline code, result
   tables, etc.
 * With the default theme this is quite ugly, because the paragraphs are justified
   and the content area is too narrow to hold lines of code. (And there is no syntax
   highlighting, though this isn’t top priority.)
 * Besides that, there is an issue with having more than one code block in the RTE.
   They are somehow merged together or broken in some other way, I didn’t examine
   that further.
 * Last not least I’m German, so I’d like to have typographically correct German
   quotation marks in normal text, but not in code blocks.
 * Which themes/plugins do you recommend?

 * For a theme I’d only say you should to stick with those which do not force a 
   fixed width to the content area. So yes, the default is a bad choice here.
 * For plugins, there are a number which deal with displaying and/or segmenting 
   code in posts. I’d start looking around here:

    I second Kafkaesqui on his thoughts and would suggest iG:Syntax Hiliter
   for syntax highlighting, I using it on my blog and it works very well.
