developed site in subdirectory, display in root directory url problems

I developed a site in mysite\wpx
I followed the directions for displaying the site in the root directory mysite
All works fine except the urls which link to files still look like this: mysite/wpx/wp-content/uploads/year/month/filename

I tried several tools to edit URLs, that that must not be the problem. What can I do? Thank you
