# Dev Ver. automatic update tonight

   Unpacking the update… Installation Failed Error: [copy_failed_for_update_core_file]
   The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. 
   This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. wp-admin/includes/update-
   core.php
 * And this via manually trying to update afterwards:
 * “Warning: copy(/public_html/dev/wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-latest-RyozTz/wordpress/
   wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No
   such file or directory in /public_html/dev/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-
   direct.php on line 257”
 * Gives same message doing ‘reinstall now’
 * I’m going to assume i’ve got to FTP the current version again and have it retry
   yeah?

 * Install [https://wordpress.org/plugins/background-update-tester/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/background-update-tester/)
   first and run it, making sure it’s okay. That may tell you what’s wrong.
