Detect Residential vs Commercial

    We have recently switched to UPS shipping and have products go to both residential and commercial addresses. From what I can tell, this plugin is only able to return rates for one type of shipment, so either all rates are residential or all are commercial.

    The UPS API is capable of returning a residential/commercial flag. Will this plugin be updated in the near future to make use of this flag to allow flexible shipping at the correct rates? I would prefer to use this app as it is promoted by WooCommerce, but will not be able to if we can’t auto-determine residential vs commercial.

    Thanks for any insights you can provide.

    Hi,

    we will add support for select rates residential or commercial in the future. We’ll let you know when it appears.

    What do you mean by writing “auto-determine” residential vs commercial?

    Using the UPS API to check the address and apply the correct type of rate (residential/commercial) for that address. The API can flag whether or not it’s residential.

    I understand, thank you. So it’s about address validation, it’s possible.

    I am added this idea to our backlog. We will inform you in this thread when we add such funcionality.
