[Resolved] Detect if a logged in user is "active"?

  • Howdy folks! Stream is quickly becoming a “must install” for me – Thank you for your work on the plugin!

I’m investigating an idea for displaying an alert to fellow admins when another admin is logged in. After a bit of digging it occurred to me that Stream may be the easiest way to pull this off. Do you know if there is a way to do so off-hand?

My example implementation would be a notice on the frontend and/or backend of the site, visible only to fellow administrators, letting them know that another administrator is currently active.

I can use the wp_login hook and usermeta to keep track of when a user last logged in.. but I figured that with Stream I might be able to gauge whether or not a user was a active on the site.

Is that possible with Stream right now?

Hey Jonathan, thanks for the kind words about the plugin! That’s awesome to hear. We have some things we are working on that are very similar to this.

Actually, I’d like to start a convo with you separately about this, off the forums. Emailing you now…
