Detached uploaded item still showing up in search

I detached an uploaded document on one of my pages several weeks ago. I uploaded a corrected version of the document. When I open the link to the document from my webpage the correct revised version appears. However, when I do a search on my website, the old version continues to show up as one of the top results. I can’t figure out why this is happening. Any ideas how to fix it?
