• I could only get the CSS to render on (only) my landing page by emptying the cache via this plugin. A more effective—and permanent—solution was to simply remove it altogether.

Hi Tom Hubbard, can you explain the problem please? I always try to help the all people. (support forum)

what kind of error did you get?

@tom Hubbard.. this is very much unfair on your part to award only 1 star to this plugin when you have not thought of reaching the highly active support forum. As the author replies, you should have first started a thread there to get your issue resolve. I hope you change your mind and re-rate this wonderful plugin.

Kalyan, I can understand (sort of) people who buy a car, only to get it home, open the bonnet, and start messing with the engine. I am not such a person. I buy a car expecting to be able to drive it.

Why this should destroy only the landing page remains a mystery to me, but no, I installed it more than once, got the same result, and resolved my problem by removing this “wonderful plugin.”

That’s wonderful that there is an active support forum, and when I get time, perhaps I will create a sandboxed installation and experiment. I was working live, and WP Fastest Cache destroyed my site in real time.

Emre, the error I got was that all formatting was stripped from ONLY my landing page, as I said originally.

hmm.. I get it Tom but still you better contact the support forum and raise the issue the way we have been doing and getting our issues resolved in really quick time. You can also mail the author or share your login details so that he can look into it and get a fix to it. I am very much sure the author is kind enough to fix the issue.

As far as I can say, I can suggest you to try out it once again, uncheck the ‘Minfy CSS’ option, hard refresh your webpage and it should work. However, the author must have a better idea about this. I might go wrong here.

One tip: Try to apply new things on a non-production website, like a local server or any website which is not very much alive to check things out. 🙂 Hope you get a fix to your problem very soon.

I tried it again, and it is not creating this problem. Alas, I cannot change the rating. However, after installing it, my Page Speed Insights rating went from 78 to 78.

Hi Tom, I have fixed the problems. Can you try it again please?

By the way, “minify css” and “combine css” features are BETA for now. I fix the bugs when I get a ticket.

This is a open source project. You can help me for improvement.

Now, Can you try it again please?

    Emre,

As of my last post, there was nothing to fix. Regardless, I ran through some tests.

Here are my google Page Speed insights results. I have included other plugins as a matter of general interest.

    (Mobile/desktop)

      Initial: 80/91
      Deactivated WP Super Cache: 81/91
      Deactivated WP deferred javaScript: 80/91
Deactivated Async JS and CSS: 73/74
Activated Async JS and CSS: 73/74, 58/86 (server response time), 80/91
      Installed WP Fastest Cache: 77/87
      Deactivated WP Fastest Cache: 80/91

There appeared to be no formatting problem, but it appears that installing WP Fastest Cache slowed down my site (as did WP Super Cache). Perhaps there’s some plugin conflict happening.

    Installed and activated Autoptimize: 87/94

First of all, you should now “Cache Plugin” is not for optimization. Sites use the cache plugin not to spend a lot of CPU. Minify css, merge css etc. , these are for optimazation. They are different things.

For example; if you have 10K visitors, you cannot use ordinary hosting. You need a VPS. but if you use a cache plugin, you can use an ordinary hosting.

    please tell me your url

    Plugin Author Emre Vona

    (@emrevona)

and there is no need to use Autoptimize

    Thread Starter Tom Hubbard

    (@tom-hubbard)

My objective is to speed up the site pe4.me, which is small and has little traffic.

I see from your description of WP Fastest Cache (is this what you mean by “Cache Plugin?”) that it benefits sites with heavy traffic, but you also list

    Performance Optimization
Generating static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog
Minify Html – You can decrease the size of page
Minify Css – You can decrease the size of css files
Enable Gzip Compression – Reduce the size of files sent from your server to increase the speed to which they are transferred to the browser.
Leverage browser caching – Reduce page load times for repeat visitors
Combine CSS – Reduce number of HTTP round-trips by combining multiple CSS resources into one
    Combine JS

giving the impression that WP Fastest Cache offers all these things. So “Cache Plugin” (if you mean WP Fastest Cache) is not for optimizing a site, yet offers options for optimizing your site. So it simultaneously IS NOT and IS for optimizing a site?

If your plugin is not for optimizing a site — even as it offers optimization tools — I apologize for the misunderstanding. In any event, my site loads faster without it.
