Hey! Just did my first migration and it worked beautifully. THANK YOU.

Just trying to understand one component: A few of the default plugins (Akismet, etc) on the destination WP clean install that had been removed on the source site were still present on destination site after the migration. Is it merging the databases/file structure doing a 100% clean import? Thank you!

    Hey @kboudreau,

We do not delete any files from the destination site. Instead, we copy files from the source site to the destination, ensuring that existing files are only overwritten if a file with the same name already exists. No files are removed during this process.

Although plugin files from the previous setup may still be present, they will remain inactive. This is because plugin activation status is managed through the database. Since the entire database on the destination site is replaced with a copy from the live (source) site, any previous data, including plugin activation settings, is completely overwritten and rendered inactive.

Feel free to write to us at support[@]migrateguru[.]com if you have any more questions.
