[Resolved] Desktop client to update a table?

  • I’m a fairly new WordPress user, but learning quickly. I have a table that I update daily (manually). I know that there are desktop clients that make blogging easier directly from the desktop. Is anyone aware of a way to do that with a Tablepress table? I have never used any of the desktop clients, so I just don’t know if they can be configured to update data in plugins like Tablepress.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance 🙂

    Hi Chris,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

No, sorry, I’m not aware of a desktop client that can be used for updating TablePress tables.
The closest that it gets is probably to edit a table e.g. in Excel or Numbers, and then save it as a CSV file, which can then again be imported into TablePress.

    Tobias

Would it be rude to suggest usage of other plugin that works directly with Excel sheet?

    Hi,

I’m not really sure what you mean, but please go ahead 🙂
In the end, it’s all about finding a good solution for each user!

Well this part of your answer:

made me think that our service together with plugin I developed could be a solution.

Our plugin (actually two, but doing the same thing two different ways) connects WordPress site with our service that provides tools for online publishing excel sheets and access tables (directly, without importing data to some SQL database), as well as for collecting data from web site visitors, and admin tool for CRUD operations.
Plugins can be found at https://wordpress.org/plugins/idbbee/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/edbbee/ and service web is http://www.dbbee.com with lots of useful articles and tutorial videos.

Plugins are free, service has useful free plan as well as paid plans.

    I hope this will help.
