  • The thumbnails on your main page are not good. They’re badly cropped. For example, the one on the bottom cuts off the model’s face below his top lip. It’s not well-considered, IMHO. The one on top cuts off the text where the entirety of the words should show, and the Domino’s example cuts off the pizza where it would be better to have the entire pie showing.

I think it would be better to either show a full screenshot of the sites you’ve designed on the front page of your blog or show no screenshot at all.

Also, your theme’s design looms over your work in a way that stresses your theme’s design over and above the work you’re trying to feature. I think that’s a mistake. The theme should take a background to your portfolio and not the other way around.

    Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the great comments!

About the thumbs being cropped badly, those are just a quick preview template I setup for easy maintenance. They are the actual design being shown and all cropped at the same place regardless just to grab interest. I may revisit these later down the road but for now the user can just click for further detail.

I thought about going the minimalistic approach for the overall design, which is probably a better choice. Being this is my first WP site though I wanted to push to see what design detail I could achieve with this site.

    Thanks, keep em coming!
