    Hi,

Is there any way to prevent table of contents (TOC) generated by “easy table of contents” plugin being showed in autogenerated meta description generated by Yoast plugin.

I know we can manually enter meta description for each post but for site with thousands of posts, its not feasible.

We want to show TOC immeditaly after title and don’t want to shift its position.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The auto-generated description uses a built-in WordPress feature that creates the post excerpt. I am not aware of a way to hide content from it.

This support topic from the “easy table of contents” plugin forum had the same question about removing it from the excerpt with the solution being to either move the TOC or to write a custom excerpt.

We do offer a variable called %%excerpt_only%% which will only output a custom excerpt and ignore the auto-created one. But if you don’t have a custom written excerpt, you wouldn’t get a description at all.
