# Description doesn’t match

 * We have a custom meta description added in Yoast. When we View Page Source on
   the page, we can see it clearly in the <head> tag. But when we copy the URL to
   an email, the preview is pulling a testimonial from the page instead of showing
   our description. We’ve cleared the cache on the page and in our browser. Any
   ideas on how to fix this?

 * Hi [@magriguez](https://wordpress.org/support/users/magriguez/)
 * We understand you’ve set a specific meta description in the Yoast SEO plugin
   and it also reflects that way when viewing the page source and checking the <
   head> section.
 * Could you provide an example URL where this is occurring as well as a screenshot
   of what you are seeing when you copy and paste the URL on an email (we’re not
   sure what sort of email service you are using or what sort of tags it uses to
   generate the preview) but if you could add a screenshot (using snipboard.io or
   imgur.com to share link) this would be helpful.

 * It seems to be pulling a testimonial from the page.

 * Hi [@magriguez](https://wordpress.org/support/users/magriguez/)
 * When viewing the page source of [https://kalele.io/iddd-workshop/](https://kalele.io/iddd-workshop/),
   we see that the meta description tag is:
 * `<meta name="description" content="Advanced software architecture and Domain-
   Driven Design workshops taught by Vaughn Vernon and industry experts" />`
 * So if that is what you’ve set in the Yoast SEO plugin, then the code is working
   as expected. We’re not sure as to why Outlook seems to be pulling a different
   description. It does indeed seem to be from the Elementor testimonial (line 485
   in the page source).
 * We investigated this further and it looks like some users in [this thread](https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/office-365/how-do-i-change-the-content-that-is-shown-in-the-link-preview-in/m-p/167794)
   have encountered the same issue with Outlook’s link preview not using the metadata
   or open graph tags.
 * It also doesn’t seem to be mentioned what specific data they use to generate
   the link preview in [their documentation](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-link-preview-in-outlook-com-and-outlook-on-the-web-ebbfd8ce-d38e-40ef-bb8c-a5362e881163).
 * You may want to get in touch with Microsoft Outlook support for further clarification
   on this.
