I’m mostly using Generatepress as base template for most of my Elementor designs, changing practically everything except some core components that Generatepress offers that I like.

However I was wondering what exactly this font set are used for like the generatepress.wofff2 file for example, I assume these are icons/glyphs and if they are are they only used for the front-end?

If this is yes then I probably never use them as I replace the header, footer and single pretty much with Elementor which just uses FontAwesome.

So then I was wondering if it is even needed to actually have these loaded in the first place, and if not how I would be able to deque them.

Thanks in advance for further information.

    Hi there,

You’re right, that font file is used for the icons in the theme.

Right now, it’s not possible to remove. However, we’ll be changing that in the next major release of the theme.

The file itself is only about 1kb in size, so I wouldn’t worry too much about loading it even if it’s not needed right now.

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Oh alright that’s good to know. I’ll just wait and see or in the meantime perhaps just manually remove it from the parents theme.
