Support » Plugin: Widget for Google Reviews » Deprecated constructor method

    Hello,

after activating this plugin I got this notice:

Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; GoogleReviewsWidgetAPI has a deprecated constructor in [...]/plugins/widget-google-reviews/api/grw-api.php on line 17

I had to disable debug mode to “hide” this.
Are there any plans to update the constructor?

    Hi @furocan,

It seems you’re using the very old version of the plugin because the latest version does not have such file ../api/grw-api.php. Could you send the debug information from the settings page of the plugin (WordPress Settings / Google Reviews Widget / Settings) to support [at] richplugins.com, also please send a screenshot of this page.

    Thanks!

    Hi @richplugins ,

    thanks for the fast answer.
Something really strange happened. I wanted to revisit my website to check the version but on the plugins page I got the message that the plugin was automatically deactivated because no plugin file was found.
I installed the plugin again and now the “deprecated” message is gone away.

When I installed the plugin first I did it with composer and wpackagist. There it said the latest version is 1.49 (which is higher than the latest version at wordpress.org with 1.8.3). See here.
Did you changed the way you use the version number?

    Hi @furocan,

The version 1.49 is very old, the current one is 1.8.3, please delete the 1.49, download the latest from wp.org official site https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-google-reviews/ and the issue must gone.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!
