    Hello,

With the many changes to WP core, deprecations are starting to appear for various plugins. There’s one for this plugin. Can this be updated so that it won’t break with the 5.9 core coming.

wp-content/plugins/media-library-assistant/js/mla-terms-search-scripts.js: jQuery.fn.click() event shorthand is deprecated

    Thank you

Thanks for alerting me to these changes.

I have found a number of click() and isFunction instances in the MLA code and I am working on resolving them and testing the changes. I will post an update here when I have progress to report.

I have uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20210628 that includes the enhanced “MLA CSV Data Source Example” plugin. You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

PHP Warning on media upload with Polylang

Once the Development Version is installed you can verify that the deprecations have been resolved. You will have to clear the browser cache or perform a “hard” refresh of the affected pages because the Development Version doesn’t change the version number of the scripts.

The fixes will be in my next MLA version shortly after WordPress 5.8 is released. In the interim, it would be great if you could install the Development Version and let me know if it works for you. Thanks again for alerting me to this issue.

    Hi David,

Just saw this reply. I will test, but where exactly is the code that was uploaded please?

    Hi David,

I tested and found that it works. Thank you. I will wait for it to be released after core 5.8

Thanks for testing the Development Version and confirming the fix.

I have released MLA version 2.96, which contains the fix for this defect. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have trouble with the new version. Thanks again for your help with this issue.
