Deploy site from a subdomain to primary domain

    Hi,

    I want to purchase the Premium license for the backup plugin. Currently, I’m developing a WordPress website on a subdomain to replace a Joomla! website that is live on the primary domain.

    Which additional plugins would I need to accomplish this, and would the backup plugin assist me with changing the url from %subdomain.primarydomain.com% to %primarydomain.com% using something like a step-by-step process?

    Hi Erick,

    You need the Migrator add-on. This allows you replace any string of characters in the database with the search and replace tool.

    Once you have the add-on just go to:
    – the Advanced Tools tab in the UpdraftPlus dashboard
    – Find the Search/Replace Database tool
    – In ‘Search for’, enter the original/old site URL/string
    – In ‘Replace with’, enter the new site URL/new string

    and finally Click ‘Go’.

    Please ensure that you take a database backup before running this tool.
