After a failed update by Robo Gallery I was booted out of WordPress.

When doing a restore I was again booted out and now the only access I have is as a user.

I have tried re-setting the admin rights in the DB but it will not allow me any more than user access.

Any thoughts / ideas / orders gratefully appreciated

We need more detail here. How are you attempting to do this?

I added a temp user as per tutorial – here
    via phAdmin.

The user was added successfully – but with no admin.
The only plug in I have that I thought may have caused this was WordFence. I re-named their plugin folder and tried again – same result.

I then re-named my plugin folder – same result.

Can you log into your database using phpMyAdmin and change the user rights from there?

The Help Desk at my new hosts have worked it out.

Somehow the role of administrator had disappeared from my WP.

They restored the role and everything is back to normal.

@kjodle thanks for your assistance and input.
