Deleting WordPress.org Account?

    I read in this thread that there previously wasn’t a way for users to delete their accounts on here and that admins could do it but they don’t feel like it. This is from a year ago though so is that still the case?

    I joined because I was told this is where to get support on any and all programming questions about WordPress but it turns out I’ve gotten more help on other sites like stackoverflow so I wanted to know how to delete my account here?

    Not the posts, just the actual profile so that there’s no record of my email address attached to this website’s database anymore. Is it possible? If not, I guess I can just change all the info in the profile to something I never use.

    deleting accounts is not possible – your last sentence seems to be the best approach to terminate any active involvement with this forum:

    Hi, I would like to delete my wordpress.org account because after reading the support documents I believe wordpress.com is a better fit for me. I have not created anything using wordpress.org so I would not be taking anything away from the community. I would just like not to have my email associated with wordpress.org. Is it possible to do this?

    I’m sorry but we cannot delete wordpress.org accounts. Just change the email address in your profile and let it lapse.
