Deleting posts in bulk

  • How can I delete posts in bulk if my DB is getting full?
I assume I can’t just delete the posts from wp_posts… or can I?

  • If you delete records in wp_posts be sure to delete the related records in wp_post2cat and wp_postmeta. Please note, each post could have multiple records in each of those tables. If you do attempt this, backup your database before deleting anything!!

Assuming that disk space in not the issue, your database should be able to hold a very large number of posts.

    Thanks!

DB space is THE issue. So there’s no automated way to delete ‘X oldest posts’ or ‘posts old than X month’…

    Sigh.

Don’t mind me asking, but how many posts do you have that take up so much db space?

And you are hosted at a place where they restrict db space?
