Deleting Pages Problem

    I’m having a problem deleting the remnants of an old Page.

    The Page itself gets deleted, but if I write a new Page with the same title that the old deleted Page had, then the new Page gets a “-2” added to the Title.

    How do I get rid of the “-2”? Is this a database problem?

    Have you tried to edit the Post Slug of your new page and delete the -2 by hand?

    Unfortunately, I’m using v2.5 and I can’t edit post slugs anymore – all that’s left is being able to edit the permalink, and that doesn’t work either – I guess it’s not updating the database.

    Bug?

    Editing the Permalink is infact editing the Post Slug. Please disabled Javascript in your browser and you will be able to edit the post slug at the end of the page. That way we will see if it is a bug.

    Disabling JS resurrected the Page Slug field, but I was unable to change the slug 🙁

    Okay now it’s clear that you can not edit the slugs. That was only the first thing I wanted to get clear.

    Now please try to Re-build your Permalinks.

    I am unable to update or re-build my permalinks – there is no button to do so, unlike my earlier versions of WP.

    Any suggestions?
