Deleting old Users accounts

  • Hiya,

without going into too much deatil we need to be able to safely remove old users from our WP system.

Is there a way that we can ensure that if we remove them that they can’t get back into our WP system?

    Thanks.

  • First:
    Dashboard > Settings > General >
Make sure “anyone can register” is unticked.

    Second:
To delete a user, go to Users > All Users
Pick the users you want to delete

When you say safely delete, what is your intention for the content they left behind on the site (posts & pages)…etc

Thanks, yes, their work needs to stay behind but he no longer works with us and I’ve been told to delete his access rights.

You can delete him, and assign his posts to another user (using steps above).

Your alternative is to modify the email address and password stored against his account – this will (effectively) prevent him from logging in.

Other people may have ideas too?
