Support » Plugin: WP Login Attempt Log » Deleting Log Data

    Hi Simon,

For the past few months I have had a hacker trying to get into my WordPress Admin account. I have been using Limit Logon Attempts – Reloaded to block the IP adresses used, but as every attempt has been from a unique IP address, this has not stopped the attack.

I recently came across your plugin which has provided some additional information for me (thank you for that), but I would now like to delete part of this Log data (or all if easier).

I have tried deleting the plugin from the WordPress directory using the cPanel File Manager and replacing with the previous day’s backup, but the Log data still shows entries since the backup was made. I have also tried uninstalling and then deleting the plugin. When reinstalled, all the precious data is still there.

Can the log file be deleted?

  • @fredsted : would appreciate a ‘reset log’ or delete log option for your much appreciated WordPress plugin : some ip-addresses from which scores of log-in attempts were made in the past have not been able to do so after they were blocked, it would help if I could delete or reset the log and thus find recent ‘repeat offenders’, please.

Not sure whether you still write plugins, but reset or option to remove individual entries once the ip-address is added to the block list would really help.

Looking forward, with best regards and ‘vriendelijke groet’ (Dutch for friendly greeting),

@rosco51 and @n3h3r: Thanks for the ideas!

The next version will remove the logs, and I’ll add a button to reset the log database table.

Version 1.3 has now been released, which includes a button to reset the log.

Thank you very much Simon. Works perfectly. Thanks again for a great plugin.
