Hi Alan,
if you have read the installation instructions then you understand that cashing can appear in 3 different places. (Not just WP plugin/s.)
1. WP plugins
I am not sure you can find all cashing plugins by yourself and clear the cache memory.
2. Sever/Hosting
You can contact support and ask them to clear the cache for you.
3. Cloud service
For example “Cloudflare” service. First, you need to find out if your site is using a cloud service and which one. After that, you can try to search for a youtube tutorial on how to clean the cache on that particular cloud. (You’ll probably need cloud account login credentials.)
It is also important to clear the cache memory in the right order 1-3.
I am not sure if my explanation is going to help you in a way where you can solve it by yourself. Maybe, you should consider hiring someone to help you with the setup.
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I have downloaded WP to my PC and are using ‘Local’ website to build a test site on my PC, I do not want to risk any errors with our club site.
We all have to start somewhere!
My test site is not connected to the internet and is not hosted by any company. Perhaps this could be the reason for the problem? I have made many pages using Elementor, also headers and footers etc.
We have some prices for managing our clubs website, these are way more than we could afford to pay.
As there is no actual ‘Hosting’ can I assume that the suggestion #3 would not be relevant?
I have cleared the cache and the JS and CSS as required using WP-Optimize plugin.
When I select F12 the Console section is blank. I appreciate that diagnosis by remote is not very practical but any suggestions you can come with would be helpful.
Best regards
Alan.
If the site is set locally then I would say that 2nd and 3rd steps are not relevant.
This is a long shot but you can try to debug it like this:
– Try to deactivate all other plugins.
– Also, you can try to change the active theme.

Thanks for the reply, I was not sure but thought that 2nd an 3rd steps were not relevant.
I can try to deactivate the other plugins, but I am using the same Generate Press theme as on our club site, so if I change the theme then what I do on the local site may not work on the club site.
I am in no hurry, the club is closed until April 2023 so time to learn a lot more, If I don’t give up by then!
Regards
Alan.
By changing the theme you can find out if the theme code is causing the issue.
It is the same with deactivating plugins, you can find out if a certain plugin is causing the issue.
I will back it up and try your suggestions tomorrow, thanks for the advice.
Regards
Alan.
Regret no time today to action your suggestions, my wife has taken over as treasurer so I have been up to my neck in spreadsheets. I thought I’d left that all behind at retirement.
Oh well……….
And I’ve just discovered we do not have privacy or GDPR statements. Hope there’s a plugin! 🙂
I’ve just tested the plugin installation and functionality with the latest WordPress version 6.1 and everything works perfectly.
I think I will need to start again, deactivated all plugins, had to reactivate WP-Optimize to clear cache.
F12 does not show as in your video. I have the app on my dashboard with green and red text info but no visits shown, probably because I have got something wrong. Why F12 is not showing as your video I have no idea.
Frustrating.
Regards
Alan.
I think I will uninstall the app, log out, shut down, reboot and have another go, if you have any ideas please let me know!
No Luck I am sorry to say, I have taken a screenshot but it seems I cannot upload it here. 🙁
On the F12 Console it reports the following on two lines, beginning with an ! in a triangle:
“This page uses the non standard property “zoom”. Consider using calc() in the relevant property values, or using “transform” along with “transform-origin: 0 0”. plugins.php
This site appears to use a scroll-linked positioning effect. This may not work well with asynchronous panning; see https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/performance/scroll-linked_effects.html for further details and to join the discussion on related tools and features! plugins.php”
The lines below the above are blank.
Other than give up on this I do not think there is anything more I can do. I have no idea what or where the problem is in relation to the Console. I do not want to attempt the installation on the Clubs website in case I break it. I would not be to popular….
Regards
Alan
You need to log out and visit your site otherwise the visit will not be counted.
After you click F12, also you need to switch to the console tab.
As I said,
I’ve just tested the plugin installation and functionality with the latest WordPress version 6.1 and everything works perfectly.
It also has no errors or warnings when running on PHP version 8.
( You can maybe hire a developer on FIVERR for $5-$10 to set it up for you. )
Maybe page-visits-counter-lite javascript isn’t fired at all.
Cause for this could be for example, if your site or one of the other plugins has some kind of javascript error that has to run before page-visits-counter-lite and it breaks.
If that is the case then you need to hire a professional to fix your theme and/or your plugin/s.
I can only confirm that this has nothing to do with this plugin.
If I have given the wrong impression I sincerely apologize, I am not doubting or blaming your plugin one bit.
There is obviously something not right with my PC and I thank you for your input, advice and trying to help me.
Best regards
Alan.
All right, as we both agree that everything is fine with this plugin
I am going to mark this issue as resolved.
