If you want to delete all the spam or unwanted comments then just install a plugin called as :
Delete All Comments
Plugin found under
Tools > Delete All Comments

But I was wondering about regular comments and reply’s. The dashboard can get very full and increase the data base. SO, I cannot delete a comment if I want to keep it?

You can identify the genuine comments and replies just accept them at once.
I’ve tested this plugin and stored the spam like around 2000 and it was deleted within 3-4 seconds.
Just accept the real one’s and delete the fake ones
Do let me know if you are facing difficulty by using it.
You can prevent spam also by setting the CAPTCHA plugins .
Or just do a check box on your form.
Than you I will do that. I am using “GASP”.
So, I guess if comments are deleted from the dashboard–they ARE deleted from the page? And there is no way around that.
Doesn’t the data base get too full and slow the website? How do people deal with this. I mean the good comments.
It isn’t like writing a few posts, you can have thousands of comments and reply’s.
