Deleted Tumblr Posts

    When I initially connected the plug-in, it duplicated all my posts but rather than restoring my database, I just went through and deleted the duplicate posts. Today I went and cleaned out my wordpress post trash. When I did, I found that all my tumblr posts were deleted.

    I restored my wordpress database to the latest save prior to me cleaning my post trash however, the new posts have not returned to tumblr. How do I get my posts to appear back on tumblr? I have them all on wordpress and most of the wordpress posts orgininaly were created on tumblr.

    I’m not sure I understand what actually happened because there are some aspects of your description that are ambiguous. However, if what you are trying to do is send posts you do have on WordPress to Tumblr, you will find the “Tumblrize Archives” tool in the Tools menu of your WordPress admin screen useful. It will send all your archives that exist on WordPress to Tumblr, or update existing posts on Tumblr which already have an associated WordPress post in your archives.

    As a reminder, Tumblr is very hostile to data export, which is par for the course for capitalistic enterprises. (I.e., corporations purposefully break compatibility in order to gain a competitive advantage by abusing users.) For this reason, it is strongly recommended that any edits to your posts be done by editing them on WordPress, not on Tumblr.

    When I go to “Tumblarize Archives” the screen just goes white. I thought it might be processing so I let it be for a while but even after 24 hours, it doesn’t appear to have done anything.

    Sounds like a plugin incompatibility or some other WP problem. Consider deactivating all other plugins except Tumblr Crosspostr to narrow down what the problem could be. Here’s more info on how to troubleshoot a white screen of death on WordPress.
