  • I have added 4 posts from my site to trash from within dashbord. Within ‘posts’ the are not listed, however, the Post titles are displayed within my sidebar. When they are clicked a 404 message appears. Any ideas how I can rectify this permanently? Is it a case of these posts being present in cache and they might disappear in a day or so?

    Same think has happened when moved Page to trash. Title remains, however I get a 404 and no content can be seen.

  • This is not supposed to happen. The default Recent Posts widget doesn’t display posts in Trash. That should be either some caching issue, or a custom implementation of recent posts.

    please list the plugins / widgets other than default wordpress. And see if you have a cache plugin, you will need to reset it.

    Plugins: These were originally added to my site (06/10) and I have not since rid of those that I do not need and updated that may have suprsede those;
    All I One SEO, Broken Link Checker, cbnet Ping Optimizer, Chennai central, Contact Form 7, Cross Linker, Dragon Design Sitemap Gen, Deans Permalink Migrations, DS rating, Easy Contact, FB Like, Go Codes, Google anlaytics for WP, Google XML Sitemaps, No Self Pimngs, PC Robots, Platinum SEO, Plugin Central, Robots Meta, SEO riendly Images, Sidebar Review with PHP, Open Hook Customization Manager, Tiny MCE Advanced, What would Seth Godin Do, WP Database BackU, WP Spam Free

    I do not think any of the aforementioned are cache plugins?

    Text, Recent Posts, Pages, Search

    you are right not one of them is related to cache, did you make any other changes in permalink or perhaps a reinstall.
