Have you tried to enable a previously-published post individually at Posts > All Posts > some post > quick edit? The toggle you used above only applies to new posts.

Hi, I decided to take the comments section off my website when I first started it but now I want to put it back. The problem is it absolutely won’t appear. It used to, but now it won’t. I have activated the button that says, “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in the discussion settings. I have searched this topic and not found any solution to my specific problem. I deactivated all my plugins and I still had the same problem so it is not that. My theme is sylvia. This is my website incase that is needed: http://www.thescratchingquill.com.
Does anybody have any idea what could be going on?
