[Resolved] Delete the Search function in twentytwleve child

    I want to delete the search function. The html looks like this

    <form id=”searchform” action=”http://stmichaelspecialschool.com/” method=”get”>
    <label class=”assistive-text” for=”s”>Search</label>
    <input id=”s” class=”field” type=”text” placeholder=”Search” name=”s”>
    <input id=”searchsubmit” class=”submit” type=”submit” value=”Search” name=”submit”>
    </form>

    and the css looks like this

    #s {
    float: right;
    transition-duration: 400ms;
    transition-property: width, background;
    transition-timing-function: ease;
    width: 72px;
    }

    What do I do in my child theme to delete stuff in the parent theme?

    Thanks Frank

    Hi Frank,

    It is a better idea to comment out the search function, instead of deleting it. FYI, there was a similar question/post that details the solution. It can be found by clicking on: Remove Search Box Twenty Eleven. Although your theme is twentytwelve, the solution should apply just as well.

    Do not edit the Twenty Twelve theme. It is will be the default theme in WordPress 3.5 and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. First create a child theme for your changes.

    Your welcome Frank! I did assume that you were working on a child theme already as indicated by your post title.
