# Delete spam comments

 * My database export file is loaded with spam comments which are not shown under
   Comments, because the sending IP address is in my black list. They are however
   still in the database and I cannot find an option to delete them. How can I do
   that, and why are they stored anyway if they are marked as spam?

 * You could use [phpMyAdmin](http://codex.wordpress.org/phpMyAdmin) to delete them
   out of the wp_comments table in your database.

 * Thanks, I backuped. I am also in the wp_comments table, but I don’t know how 
   to delete all comments which are in my black list. Does anyone know?

 * Check the checkbox in front of all the lines that you want to delete… scroll 
   down and where you see what to do “With all selected” – select “drop”.
