# Delete Revisions

 * What is the latest best practice to delete revisions? I have added a declaration
   to wp-config.php but need to clean out the current ones.

 * I looked at the first one RVG however there is a bug in it by the looks of the
   support threads. I’ll check out the second one…

 * Tara I spent a long time searching before posting this thread. That one is 2 
   years old. I’m looking for information that is current to the database changes
   we’ve had in the last few updates … like Term splitting. Has there been changes
   to the way Revisions are stored etc.
 * I tried the [https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-database-cleaner/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-database-cleaner/)
   on a test site and it seemed to clean them out although I have no idea if the
   meta was cleaned or just the post tables … that’s my problem.
 * Edit: The FAQ shows what statements that are used and its simply running
 * `DELETE FROM posts WHERE post_type = 'revision'`
