 * So after a scan I found a bunch of files that seemed suspcious to WP Cerbor.
 * I selected them and “Delete”
 * I received the following message:
“All files have been processed Close These
files have been moved to the quarantine”
 * Does this mean that these files are going to be deleted or remain in Quarantine
   for ever?
 * I am also wondering if the paid version will clean this autoamtically without
me needing to deal with this sort of stuff?
Can it break the website? How will
   that work?
 * I wanted to “try for free” but there is no option to create an account on the
   WP Cerbor website :*(

 * Those files will be deleted automatically after a configured period of time.
   See the scanner setting: [https://wpcerber.com/malware-scanner-settings/](https://wpcerber.com/malware-scanner-settings/)
 * Yes, the paid version does all scan-related tasks automatically: [https://wpcerber.com/automatic-malware-removal-wordpress/](https://wpcerber.com/automatic-malware-removal-wordpress/)
 * WP Cerber moves suspicious and malicious files to the quarantine in a gentle
way. Before deleting them, it checks if the file is in use. If it’s so, it will
report that. Nonetheless, on a rare occasion, it may happen that some of the
moved code files are used somewhere. And mostly it happens when such files were
found in the WordPress media (uploads) folder. We do not support such cases since
there is no excuse for using the media folder for storing code files.
 * We think the free version of WP Cerber has enough features to understand if it
meets your needs and is compatible with your active plugins. I mean if you are
happy with the free version, you will not be disappointed with the paid one.

 * Hi Gregory
 * Thank you so much for your reply! The guide you attached is outdated and does
not represent the correct layout of the configuration.
 * After I did delete the file the wordpress installation reset to 0 and I had to
restore from backup. I guess one of the main files was a false positive and I
   deleted it.
 * How would the PRO version would behave in this case?
    ” The scanner recognizes
this file as “ownerless” or “not bundled” because it does not belong to any known
part of the website and should not be here.
 * It may remain after upgrading to a newer version of WordPress. It also may be
a piece of obfuscated malware. In a rare case it might be a part of a custom-
   made (bespoke) plugin or theme.
    “
