Deflated: installed and nothing happens

  • Hello,
This is my first time using WordPress.
I just installed WP in my server root directory.
Once I typed in the name of blog and my email i wasn’t taken to a page giving me my admin name and password data but just to a page with the WordPress logo. I tried the install again and got the same result except this time it said

    “Already Installed
You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.”

Thats it, no redirect to any useful information.
Can anyone tell me what I may have done wrong?

  • probably nothing you did but a server glitch

either log in to phpmyadmin and drop all tables and install again
    or
change the $table_prefix in wp-config.php to something other than `
    wp_`

    Thanks samboll,

The table prefix were conflicting. However I changed it to match the proper table prefix, uploaded the config file then deleted the tables and reinstalled them, which resulted in the same problem. I just get a page with the WP logo and no login data.

Is there anything else you can think of that might help me with this problem?
