Defining language within theme

    I have searched everywhere but couldn’t find an answer to this:

    Is it possible to define the site language from within the theme alone? So it doesn’t depend on your wp-config.php?

    Could this maybe be done by adding or changing some code in the functions.php of the theme?

    Hopefully someone knows the answer to this 🙂
