 * OK … I’m a beginner with code … two questions:
    1. I opened this file: wp-config.
   php and it is aksing me to supply the database name? Where do I find the name
   of the database? 2. Then there is this part: // Change this to localize WordPress.
   A corresponding MO file for the // chosen language must be installed to wp-includes/
   languages. // For example, install de.mo to wp-includes/languages and set WPLANG
   to ‘de’ // to enable German language support. define (‘WPLANG’, ”); I HAVE NO
   IDEA what all that means!? Inside of the wp-includes folder there is no ‘languages’
   directory? Am I supposed to add a’languages’ directory? Where do I get an MO
   and what do set WPLANG to? Thanks!

 * 1. You need to have created a database for wp to use, or, your host will have
   a named database that you use anyway.
    2. What language do you want ?

 * 1. Ask your hosting company for your database name, or have a look at the mysql
   settings in your cpanel.
    2. No worries- ignore that bit then.

 * Ok … this is what I’ve found for MySQL:
    MySQL                Database
   Administrator: pg7160                Number of Databases: 1   Â
               Database Prefix: 4oakscollegegroup_com_-_ Then I dug a little
   deeper and found this: MySQL 3.23.58 running on localhost as [pg7160@localhost](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/definedb_name/pg7160@localhost?output_format=md)
   I’ve tried putting all of those in there but it always gives me the errore page
   saying: Error establishing a database connection! This probably means that the
   connection information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect. Double check
   it and try again. Are you sure you have the correct user/password? Are you sure
   that you have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server
   is running? WordPress Support Forums Any ideas?

 * The DB_NAME
    4oakscollegegroup_com_-_ needs something added after it. The rest
   is probably correct. Do you have phpMyAdmin ? If so, log into that, and ‘Create
   database’. The name you enter there should be added to the end of what you have
   above.

 * I have this same problem except I have the right db name, usrname, and password.
   I left it as local host becausemy phpmyadmin tells me that i’m running from Local
   host. so.. I’m confuzzled.
    Oh, and I made a subdirectory for WP called WordPress…
   Because i don’t want it all installed at the root. *headache* 🙁

 * Check this thread.
    [http://wordpress.org/support/2/11365](http://wordpress.org/support/2/11365)
   And when you specify localhost, there’s no spaces: Right: localhost Wrong: local
   host [@anon](https://wordpress.org/support/users/anon/), when you set up your
   database and user, did you then ADD the user to the database? You mustn’t forget
   that important step! Joni

 * I’m having troubles too…
    I’ve entered the information I see on my hosting companies
   website about the data base I created. The db is akanowic_blog. I put that in
   the wp-config file along with the username and password. But still no luck. I
   get an error when trying to access the install.php file.
