• Hi,
    I love this theme!
But I want to speed up my page a bit.
What is the best way to defer parsing javascript?
I tried to add code to the functions.php and I also tried the WP defer javascripts plugin, but both didn’t work.
    Any ideas?

    Isn’t anybody monitoring this?

Which bit do you want to defer? You’ll need to know the detail in order to make a page speed difference, otherwise you’ll just be shifting the time load and not making it smaller.

    Hi Andrew,
I want to defer most of the the javascript. First I was using W3 Total Cache, but that didn’t let me defer the the javascript.
I now try and use the Speed Booster Pack, but there also I can’t use the defer parsing of javascript, because then the site isn’t working right.
I also can’t put the script, both js and css in the footer. Then my site doesn’t work well either.
    So this is theme related.
I also tried to put a defer script in the functions.php, but that doesn’t work either.
I have already read a lot about it, but I think the technical stuff is too difficult for me to try to solve that.
This is what GTmetrix says: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.patriciakaas.nl/cE3FfKgY
I was using a CDN, but am thinking of stopping with that. Want to reduce the costs of my website.

So if you have any ideas, it would be great.

Is this issue specific to your theme? If yes, please post here: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/tempera#postform

How come you posted in the ‘Custom’ theme section for support?

Yes I think this is theme specific. I am using the Custom Theme of Tempera.
I will post it it the Tempera forum also then. Thanks.

You mean you’re using a child theme? The ‘Custom’ theme is not related to Tempera.

Oh that is confusing then. I am using what is called “Custom” in Tempera.
I thought this was the forum for that.
    Sorry.
